This is very interesting. It’s really been a never-ending topic of discussion whether size really matters.
Well, it seems that researchers decided to put an end to this. Results of a study concluded that size does matter after all.
Apparently, you can tell if a man can stay long in a relationship. Just take a look at his height.
Apparently, you can tell if a man can stay long in a relationship. Just take a look at his height. (So what did you think you had to look at?)
Here’s what the study shows. A man’s height can say a lot about his love life. Yes, it can tell if he’s likely to divorce or not.
The study’s conclusion does not just end there.
The study also found that there is also a positive relationship between a man’s height and his earnings capability.

So who earns more? A short man or a tall man? To find out, just keep reading on.
Setting The Parameters
The data used for the study was gathered in 1968. Information was collected from some 4,500 families. Over the years, more information was gathered on the same families.
In 1986, the data was analyzed. Height was the major factor. Men were considered short if they measured less than 66 inches. So a guy whose height was less than 5’5” inches was considered short. Tall or average men measured more than 73 inches. So that’s a guy who is about 6 feet tall.
In 2009, the height parameter increased an inch. So short men measured less than 67 inches in height. Tall or average men measured more than 74 inches.
According to the researchers, the findings show differences in the relationship patterns of short and tall men.
The researchers also measured other variables. They took note of the respondents’ income and education. They also took note of the men’s height once they were married. Interestingly, 92.7% of men were taller than their wives in 1986. In 2009, the numbers slightly dropped at 92.2%. There are interesting findings gathered from the data.

What The Study Says About Short Men
The findings show that short men marry late in life. However, they are less likely to divorce than average and tall men. They were also found to marry younger and less educated women. (Really now?)
The findings also show short men earn more than their spouses. (Could be true. Take a look at the short actors that marry tall women.) Interestingly, short men are spared from doing housework.
What they’re lacking in height, they make up for it. Most of the time, they make up for it in their income.

What The Study Says About Tall Men
The findings show that tall men marry earlier. Unlike short men, they marry early in life. The study links that to why they’re more prone to divorce. Tall men also marry women within their age bracket. They’re more likely to marry women that are educated.
According to the study, tall men can “barter” their attractive features. Since height is considered an asset, tall men can “barter” this. In exchange for that, they get more successful women.

The study stresses that this was the trend from 1986 to 2011. It’s also important to note the limitation of the study. The data that was gathered was from the same 4,500 respondents. It’s not applicable to all couples. But nonetheless, the findings are interesting. If not for anything, the findings are good conversational topics.
My Take On The Study
The study is definitely interesting, if not quite amusing. I mean, let’s face it. There are a lot of successful men who are short. And yes, they have a trophy wife in their arms. So did they make up for their height? Probably they did. And I must say they did a good job! But we can’t deny that there are short successful men that have divorced their trophy wives as well. On the other hand, are tall men luckier? I wouldn’t think so.
Although the findings are interesting, we can’t really rely on them. But there’s one thing that’s for sure. There’s a link between a man’s height and his behavior in a relationship.
So my take on the study is this. It’s just a study!
Although the findings are interesting, we can’t really rely on them. But there’s one thing that’s for sure. There’s a link between a man’s height and his behavior in a relationship. However, there’s still nothing solid about the findings.
After all, 4,500 respondents can’t speak for the whole male population. We also have to consider the time frame of the study. A lot has changed since then. So the study really has a lot of limitations.
So does size really matter? Probably it does. Probably it doesn’t. We still don’t know the answer to that.

I think character is more important than size. You got to consider the chances of shrinking over the years …Yes, men shrink too you know 🙂
Short men would have to exert more effort to catch attention. So in a way, you’re kinda right. They’ll make up for something they lack. What better way to do that but by earning lots of money.
According to my girlfriend, size does not matter. To me, it DOES Matter. 😉
Ladies, size does matter. When you see the size of my bank account, I’m sure you will agree. hehehe
I like the way you said that tall men “barter” their good looks so that they can get more successful women. It puts a new spin on the Law of Attraction,:)
During my high school years, I didn’t feel too great about my height. I wasn’t short. Instead, I was too tall and I had always thought I looked awkward. My posture was bad. I still have those moments but the book has really helped me cope with my insecurities.
Well, size helps but it’s not everything.
The study just shows that we can always be better guys no matter how tall or short we are.
So short men work harder than tall men so they can become more valuable to the women they date 🙂 But then I think women like successful men more than just good looking guys. They prefer security over attraction.
I wonder what Randy Newman has to say about the study?
